The way we see it - Jarred’s world - Our offerings - Testimonials

————

You have a keen eye and good taste.

You’ve seen many things in your time and have a desire to be seen for who you are.

You washed your hands of the grip of the over commercialised marketing that simultaneously drains your pockets and your soul, now you’re looking for someone who see it the same way. You didn’t settle in your search for true love and you need someone who understands how that feels.

If it wasn’t for our own experiences, maybe we wouldn’t get it. But we do.

So we play an important role of being a witness and a documenter. Observed and uninterrupted.

To create a collection of truthful, heartfelt, stomach punching moments. Images you want you to get lost in the more you look at them. A heritage that expresses truth to those who will adore you, long after you’re gone.

We didn’t sing the praises of the many flourishing titles within this complex industry.

It’s evidence that we collect, without saying too much of what we are not, we’re trying to tell a story.

There’s many cowboys/cowgirls in the rat race begging for your money, but attention is a greater currency. In a somewhat anthropological fashion we speak of what unfolds honestly. In the soft, stillness of a silent moment or in the infectiousness and weightlessness of laughter, the tears that spill out of a spring within and the way a face changes, the head tilts, the pupils dilate or the simplicity of touch. We are watching, taking notes with our cameras.

This is how the day should be remembered.

It’s a perspective, the way we see the world, that we want to share.

Who you are, alone and together is something to immortalise on a significant day, a time stamp of who you were and what mattered in a moment so important that you can never forget it.

Our Lead Photographer

Jarred Eid

Hi, I’m Jarred. I’m a Melbourne wedding photographer and I look after Library Weddings a Melbourne based wedding photography studio.

My whole career has been this. It was 15 years ago I went on my first wedding, a defining moment that shaped my outlook on what love is and how important the role is to tell that story.

Ultimately, I kept shooting weddings because I wanted to see love up close, in all its forms. I wanted to learn from every culture what family meant and the roles each archetype plays in love. It has been an obsession.

Experience doesn’t really exceed truth, but in combination it becomes invaluable. Experience means less time worrying and considering things like lighting or composition or anticipating an important moment, as least in my front mind. It means there is space and time for presence, to see clearly.

I recently relocated to Melbourne for my own love story.

I’m here to continue my work for good people with a good eye.

I drink my coffee slow and I don’t like to force things. Creativity takes time, it seems as if I don’t get to choose when it visits. But it does and I like to do things that welcome it regularly.

I make art in many forms. Which I will share with you, so you can see into my world too.

It’s a shared experience and professionalism is a weird word.

I am transparent unconsciously and keep an open heart in my work.

I try to be someone I would trust with documenting such important images.

When you book me, I’m there for you. I set up a direct line of contact where you can reach me anytime with anything big or small, like a friend. The more the better, it’s how I build my understanding of who you are and what is important to you.

On the day, I’m there for you, working and present. I’m not directing in a way that steals the show or shooting photos that simply tick the boxes. I’m constantly observing and trying to move gracefully. Everything I perceive is going in and forming an understanding of how the day feels, who played certain roles and importantly where was the love? what was the evidence of what this couple make together.

With my entire embodied being, I believe that art imbues magic when it is created and expressed honestly. So I think there is a certain importance of who the artist is and what they embody to consider when commissioning them for this work.

But I also think the work you commission me to do should give you a piece of me, my life’s experience and my own expressions of what life has been for me. The images should have a certain transcendence upon observing them, they should speak of something I saw as much as they are something you experienced.

Offerings

We have packages for every kind of offering, from vow renewals or elopements to mega 400+ guest weddings.

Every package includes a few important things that we have identified.

A direct line of contact with your photographer via Whatsapp. This is a space where your story unfolds with all the little thoughts that come to mind to the weather dependent changes that may arise. This is an important way for us to break down our “professional” barriers of access to us. Our service is very personal and your needs matter. We always respond when we have time to give it and we enjoy this process.

Unlimited consultations in person or via video chat, to your needs. There are two crucial meetings that we will instigate at the beginning of our journey together and right before your day.

A personal and private online gallery with a curated slideshow built in.

This gallery can be shared with family, friends and other vendors (It also has a feature where you can hide images if you need to) You can use AI to search for people’s faces if you need a collection to craft a mother’s day post.

You can also order any prints you may need direct from this gallery and an app can be saved on your phone which will store all of your photos in a cloud giving you access to them whenever you need them without clogging up your phone space.

Handcrafted editing by Jarred.

Unfortunately a hidden production secret in the world of wedding photography is automation. Presets draped over every image without considering how the lighting is affecting the colour changes. AI is now editing photos which further removes the photographer from the nuances and choices pivotal in curating a story. Then there is the shipping of images overseas to third world countries who probably use AI themselves (Fair enough) for a the cost of a pub meal.

We avoid these because this part of the process is incredibly enjoyable and important.

The variables exist in the hours of coverage needed and whether or not a second photographer is needed on the day.

If this sounds like something you’re into you can send us a request for the pricing.

This information will include more about our other photographers, shooting on film options, more testimonies from our couples and all the other print options for you.
